Peru Retreat Daily Schedule
Day 1 - Morning flight from Lima to Cusco (flight to Cusco not included) where you will be met. Together we will have lunch in Cusco before continuing on to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the Urubamba Valley. With beautiful views of the Andes Moutains accompanying us along the way, we reach Pachamama Wasi , the spiritual center which will be our home during our yoga retreat. Time to rest for a few hours and then we will have our opening circle and dinner. Dinner is included.
Day 2 - Every day herbal and black teas as well as coffee are available before we start our morning yoga class. After breakfast we will take a hike through the village where we are staying, Yanahuara, to see and feel how the local people live, until we reach the glacial water filled creek and the beautiful vegetation at the base of the mountain that stands above the village. After lunch, you can rest or schedule a facial or Reiki session with Oceana, who shares her beautiful healing energy through her hands. Yoga session before dinner. All meals included
Day 3 - Yoga class before breakfast. After breakfast we will visit the archeological site of Moray. It was actually constructed as an agricultural experimental station, in the various circles that together look like an amphitheatre, the crops were grown on different levels to see how they would do at the different elevations. We will take our yoga mats with us in case it is not too hot then we can do yoga before having our picnic lunch. Before returning home we will visit the extraordinary Maras Salt mines. All meals included .
Day 4 - Yoga day at Pachamama Wasi with an afternoon sweat lodge (optional).
Day 5 - Today, after morning yoga, we visit the ruins at Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon, after lunch we will take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night . Breakfast included.
Day 6 - Today we will get up early and, after breakfast, take the bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, with Juan de Dios as our guide. Breakfast included.
Day 7 - Another early morning as we take a hike alongside the Vilcanota River and then on to the Mandor Waterfalls. We can do yoga in the meadow, visit the waterfall and eat our picnic lunch together before returning to Aguas Calientes and our return train to Ollantaytambo. A bus will be waiting to take us back to Pachamama Wasi. Breakfast included.
Day 8 - Yoga day at Pachamama Wasi. Closing circle before dinner. All meals included.
Day 9 - After breakfast we have the day to shop and look around the city. Breakfast included.
Day 10 - Transfer to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima and your connection home. If you want to spend an extra day in Cusco or in Lima, let us know and we can arrange it for you and let you know what the cost will be.
*Please note, this schedule is subject to change, as necessary due to weather and other considerations.
Please also note: We will be staying primarily at Pachamama Wasi. Pachamama Wasi is a spiritual center and is not run like a hotel. The bathrooms are cleaned for you each day. You will be responsible for making your own bed. All food is vegetarian. Eggs are available for breakfast. Black and herbal teas and drinking water are available all day and coffee is served at breakfast and other times on request. The rooms are divided between triples, 1 double, singles or a double bed for couples. Most rooms have private bathrooms but not all. The ones with the private bathrooms will be filled first.
The yoga and meditation hall has a wonderful view of the Andes Mountain.
Travel Considerations:
When booking your flight, take into consideration that we will all meet up on the morning of September 12th in Cusco.
